Rough-scaled bush viper

The smallest of all vipers with a length of up to 75 cm is spread in West and Central Africa. As a typical tree snake it preferably lives in the tropical forest and bush land. A gripping tail supports their climbing skills and supplies them with the necessary foothold for catching and eating their prey. These consist mainly of frogs and lizards. Therefore the "food specialist" is only rarely found in terrariums. Its pointed and usually yellowish brown or green scales overlap and make the animal look almost hairy. Even if the form of its head appears more rounded it is, as with all vipers, distinctly separated from the body.

The animals you see on the photographs were bred, and that is why they are different from those living in the wild in terms of their colour as well as their eating habits.
